Making the most out of the last few days of summer

August 21, 2017

I hate to think that we are coming close to the end of the summer, but truth is that we are. But if I was to tell you that I am totally sad about that concept, I’d be somewhat lying to you. While I love the summer, truth is that I happen to have somewhat of a love and hate affair with the beloved season. While the humidity caused by the NYC heat makes my skin naturally glow, the older I get the less I am able to tolerate the high temperatures. Simple tasks such as deciding what to wear, become a challenge on a daily basis… and let’s not even talk about the very literal heatstroke I suffered during the 4th of July weekend. Ugh!

However, one thing I will dearly miss is the effortless comfort of the summer attire. The bold hues, fun patterns and strappy sandals, are without a question some of my favorite seasonal staples. Those will be sorely missed for the next 9 months. The ability to put on a simple dress, a pair of trendy flats and minimum makeup, is without a question a luxury that no other season allows us to afford.

In the words of Game of Thrones, winter’s coming, and as I prepare to wave goodbye to beach season, I will make my best effort to wear some my favorite pieces and embrace my favorite summer trends, such as this banana print crop top from Pink House Boutique, which I paired with these fun Tassel Hem Kick Flare Trousers in orange from TopShop. Letting you in a secret: the top is part of a set that I decided to visually break, by contrasting it with a bold color for a slimmer visual effect.

Within the upcoming weeks, I will continue to share some of my favorite summer looks (and info on where to get them) as we slowly but surely transition into what I hope is a wonderful fall. Stay tuned!

Now tell me, what will you miss the most about the summer?
